Headingley Development Trust is a community benefit society. Founded in 2005 and now with over 1,200 members we are a community business which supports itself through its own enterprises. We are pleased to be members of Locality and of Co-operativesUK.
We broker the wide range of initiatives described in our What We Do pages and we also work with local businesses, having helped set up the Natural Food Store on North Lane, now a successful independent co-operative. We were also responsible for the production in 2010 of the Headingley and Hyde Park Neighbourhood Design Statement which remains a Leeds City Council planning document to this day. Our activities are developed in conjunction with our members and mostly delivered through voluntary effort. Some are designed to tackle particular challenges in the area. Many are designed to provide opportunities to bring the whole community together.
Our two main enterprises are run by subsidiary companies – HEART and The Headingley Greengrocer.
Joining HDT shows your support for creating a sustainable community and allows us to do the work that is asked of us from Headingley.
