Headingley Farmers Market is held on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 9am to 12.30pm at the Rose Garden on North Lane in Headingley.
With over 20 food stalls and music provided by a range of local groups it is accredited by FARMA and was the winner of FARMA‘s Community Spirit Award 2011 and the Yorkshire Life “Best Farmers Market” in 2011.
The Market was launched in 2006 in response to the loss at that time of many of Headingley’s fresh food shops. Since then it has grown from strength to strength and has become the place to food shop, to meet friends and to have fun on a Saturday morning. We even provide a hugely popular activity sheet for children at each market.
We aim to:
- Provide good quality food direct from the producer, mostly from within a radius of 30 miles of Leeds.
- Be a focal point for the community.
- Provide food that the community wants – so that people can do a full range of food shopping there.
The Farmers’ Market reopened in August with Covid-19 precautions and modifications including a one-way system and more spaced – out stalls. The market is planning to continue with its usual monthly schedule.
